Events Through the Years
Well GGWAS have got a little behind with reporting what Events we have been doing over the year, something to do with COVID-19 spoiling all the fun.
So here to kick start ready for a full on 2023 here are some of the bits and bobs we have been doing.
A Yahtzee Challenge 30th October 2022 - Yes a Dice game played with bows and arrows - this was organized by Handley and supported by Colin. Once the rules and strategies' all became clear a great time was had by all that took part, and some that wish they. Click the button below to see who came out on top.

In November the Society looks to see if it can enters any of the ANZ Interclub Shield events, which are for ANZ members only, however as a supportive club we like to put on events for all to support our competitive bunch. This year in the final Wet Sunday of November 2022 we hosted the GGWAS Hamilton Challenge, with any club members that felt like ditching their sights and stabilizers and not using a clicker had a go at shooting at 35 meters. With a competition made up of a 10 zone round with the added 5 zone (the official score method) added together. We are being rotten and NOT currently letting you have our teams results, but lets just say they scores more than the rest of us, and got just as wet....
Past Events / looking back over the years.
There are many events that club is involved in throughout the year. Some are held at the society's grounds, including organized tournaments, postal shoots and fun shoots, with beginner courses, holiday and birthday archery sessions held every so often.
Some members travel to other clubs for other organized competitions around the country. Some members have achieved being part of the Archery New Zealand team on the International stage.
We have an annual inter-club competition with Geraldine Archery Club held every December, where tinsel is a must for bow decoration. The Tinsel Trophy is fought over through a fun shoot which is held at each club in alternative years.
