End of Day Instructive Shoots
The GGWAS End of Day competitions are a way of ending a day's shooting with all society members shooting a 'Similar' distance but at different size target faces and sometimes rules and scoring types depending on their ability.
These competitions are run so that the more experienced archers can shoot side by side with other society members and support them by passing on their knowledge of shooting etiquette, learn how to score properly at the target and in some cases the duties of a target judge. This gives the new archer a taste of competitive shooting and shows them how they have improved over the day of archery - and to have fun, of course!
For the society it supports the moving of the targets from all across the field to near the storage container at the end of the day and for those that have been coaching all day to actually have a meaningful shoot.
If you can stay a little longer on a Sunday we highly recommend joining in on these as a great way to End the Day down at the GGWAS.
